Bryce Young, quarterback for the Carolina Panthers, was recognized for his performance in the team’s 31-28 victory over the Los Angeles Rams. On Monday, he received the “Himmy” award, which is given weekly by Scott Van Pelt, host of SVP and Monday Night Countdown. The award is based on a fan vote and acknowledges outstanding individual performances each week.

Young outperformed other nominees including Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, Packers quarterback Jordan Love, and Buccaneers offensive lineman Tristan Wirfs to claim the honor. In Sunday’s game against the Rams, Young completed 15 of 20 passes for 206 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. He achieved a career-high passer rating of 147.1 and led his team to his 11th career game-winning drive.

At 24 years and 128 days old, Young became the youngest quarterback in NFL history to record 11 game-winning drives, surpassing Josh Allen’s previous mark.

Chuba Hubbard commented on Young’s demeanor during crucial moments: “I mean, Bryce is as cool as it gets, especially in those moments he kind of makes everyone else calm, but we’ve seen those moments throughout the season,” Hubbard said. “Coaches believe in us. We believe in, believe in ourselves as well, in each other. So I think we’re just expecting, expecting to to convert.

“I mean, he’s just cool. He’s not pressing. He’s not like worried. He’s just like, I don’t even know. He’s just cool, cool as hell.”

Earlier this season, Rico Dowdle was nominated for a “Himmy” award and Andy Dalton won after the Panthers’ Week 3 win against the Raiders last year.

Young has also been nominated for the FedEx Air & Ground Player of the Week award and fans have been encouraged to vote for him as well as support Panthers players for Pro Bowl selections.
