Summer saw the Carolina Panthers’ receiving corps in Minnesota for a unique retreat. Rookie receiver Tetairoa McMillan offered an inside look at the event, which was more than just an offseason workout with quarterback Bryce Young.

Panthers receivers McMillan, Xavier Legette, Adam Thielen, David Moore, Jimmy Horn Jr., Kobe Hudson, and tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders joined quarterbacks Young and Ethan Garbers for three days in Minneapolis. The gathering took place where Thielen resides during the offseason.

The group began each day with workouts and fieldwork, running routes with Young and Garbers. “We’re about to have a good little bonding time,” said Horn on the first day.

They attended a WNBA game supporting the Minnesota Lynx on their first night. The second day featured water sports on a local lake led by Thielen. After wakeboarding lessons for Moore and McMillan, they encouraged Legette to join despite his hesitations about unseen depths.

Before leaving, they squeezed in another workday. McMillan emphasized working closely with Young and teammates: “Building a relationship with Bryce has been easy just because he’s a Cali kid himself…I think me and him have the same aspirations.”

As training camp approaches next week with practices starting July 23, Head Coach Dave Canales emphasizes team focus. Reflecting this sentiment, McMillan concluded: “I know football…we got some people that can go…we’re all striving for the same things.”
