Charlotte FC secured a 3-1 win over Austin FC at Bank of America Stadium on Saturday night. The match saw goals from Idan Toklomati in the 29th minute and Pep Biel, who scored twice in the second half.

Biel’s performance was central to Charlotte’s victory. His second goal, a left-footed shot past Austin goalkeeper Brad Stuver, came in stoppage time and sealed the result for Charlotte.

The game changed early when Austin defender Guilherme Biro received a red card in the 23rd minute after fouling Toklomati. Shortly after, Toklomati scored with an assist from Wilfried Zaha, marking Charlotte’s first home goal of the season.

Austin responded quickly with an equalizer following a Charlotte own goal. Despite pressure early in the second half, Biel put Charlotte ahead for good with his first goal before adding another late in the match.

Two young players made notable appearances for Charlotte. Morrison Agyemang started his first match after debuting last week in Los Angeles. Aron John also made his first team debut as a substitute after signing a short-term agreement before the game.

Charlotte FC will play again next Saturday against Inter Miami at Bank of America Stadium.

Charlotte Football Club is based in Charlotte, North Carolina and competes as a professional soccer team in Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference according to its official website. The club began play as an expansion franchise with its inaugural season in 2022.
