Charlotte FC was defeated 3-0 by LA Galaxy on Saturday night in Los Angeles after conceding three goals within the first 15 minutes of play. The opening goal came in the eighth minute when a shot from Galaxy forward Gabriel Pec hit the post and rebounded to Lucas Sanabria, who scored. Three minutes later, Pec delivered a cross that set up João Klauss for another goal.

Klauss then intercepted a Charlotte pass and scored his second goal of the match, making it 3-0 for LA Galaxy early in the game. Charlotte FC’s Kerwin Vargas and Wilfried Zaha created scoring opportunities but were unable to convert them.

In the second half, goalkeeper Kristijan Kahlina made a notable save to keep the scoreline unchanged. The match also marked the first-team debut of Morrison Agyemang, a defender from Crown Legacy, who played after being substituted on at halftime by Head Coach Dean Smith.

Charlotte FC will play their home opener next Saturday against Austin FC at Bank of America Stadium, beginning a stretch of five consecutive home games.
