Charlotte FC is set to face Chicago Fire FC at the Bank of America Stadium this Saturday. The match marks their first encounter in the 2025 campaign. Charlotte enters the game after a demanding midweek clash against Orlando City SC, while Chicago had no midweek fixture. Charlotte holds a strong 5-1-0 record against Chicago and aims to secure three points.

The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be available on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. Radio coverage will be provided by WFNZ 92.7 FM in English and WOLS 106.1 FM in Spanish.

In their previous meeting, Charlotte won 4-3 over Chicago on October 2, 2024. Currently, Charlotte has an all-time MLS regular season record of five wins and one loss against Chicago Fire.

Charlotte’s strategy involves progressive buildup through midfield with quick transitions exploiting space between defensive lines. Head Coach Dean Smith emphasized the importance of concentration and effort: “We’ve been creating good chances… I have always said the hardest thing to do is to score a goal.”

Despite losing four consecutive matches, Charlotte has maintained competitiveness with significant goal contributions. Players Wilfried Zaha and Liel Abada have been key offensive players for Charlotte, each scoring crucial goals recently.

Chicago Fire’s Brian Gutiérrez and Hugo Cuypers have been standout performers this season. Gutiérrez leads active players with 12 shots in previous meetings between the clubs, while Cuypers has scored eight goals with two assists this season.

Currently ranked 11th in the Eastern Conference with a record of 4-4-4, Chicago faces a challenging four-game road trip starting with this match against Charlotte FC.
