Charlotte FC will host Chivas de Guadalajara at Bank of America Stadium on Sunday, August 3, as both teams look to recover from opening losses in the Leagues Cup Phase One. Charlotte FC lost their first match 4-1 against FC Juarez, ending a five-match unbeaten run. Chivas also suffered defeat, falling 1-0 to New York Red Bulls at Sports Illustrated Stadium.

The match is scheduled for a 7:50 p.m. ET kickoff and will be broadcast live on AppleTV+ (MLS Season Pass), FS1, TUDN, and Univision. Radio coverage will be available in English on WFNZ 92.7 FM and in Spanish on WOLS 106.1 FM.

Charlotte FC currently sits at 17th place in the group after one game played, with zero points and a -3 goal differential. The team’s defense has faced challenges recently but continues to find success offensively. Thursday’s loss marked the club’s 18th consecutive match with at least one goal scored, including 12 matches with multiple goals during that span.

Israeli striker Idan Toklomati scored his sixth goal in eight matches but was sent off with a red card in the 80th minute and will miss Sunday’s game against Chivas. Nathan Byrne made his return after three-and-a-half months away due to injury, playing 62 minutes; Charlotte FC had a stronger record when Byrne was healthy earlier this season.

The upcoming match provides an opportunity for both clubs to get back on track as they continue their Leagues Cup campaigns.
