Charlotte FC emerged victorious in their recent away match against Montreal, securing their first three points on the road this season. The team, led by manager Dean Smith, delivered a solid performance despite not being at their best. The match saw Charlotte FC score early and maintain a strong defense throughout, ultimately preventing Montreal from scoring.

Pep Biel showcased his attacking skills during the match, while Kristijan Kahlina impressed with key saves. Adilson Malanda’s defensive prowess earned him the Man of the Match title, but the team struggled with maintaining possession and executing accurate passes.

The victory moves Charlotte FC to the top of the Eastern Conference standings. The team faces upcoming matches at home, starting with a game against San Diego FC on April 19th.

The match against Montreal opened with the home team aggressively seeking an early goal, hitting the post in the 9th minute. However, Charlotte FC took the lead in the 16th minute, with Pep Biel scoring his eighth goal contribution in eight matches, assisted by Patrick Agyemang and Liel Abada.

Throughout the game, Montreal attempted to penetrate Charlotte’s defense but were repeatedly caught offside. Charlotte FC focused on managing the game, countering only when opportunities arose. Tim Ream had to be substituted after an injury scare, with Doumbia replacing him.

Kahlina made crucial saves, including a significant stop in the 72nd minute against debutant Vrioni, who posed a constant threat. Adilson Malanda successfully defended against Vrioni in the 87th minute, avoiding a penalty call.

Charlotte FC now returns home, where they hope to continue their winning form.
