Charlotte FC defender Nathan Byrne recently underwent a successful surgery to address injured discs in his neck. The procedure, conducted on Monday morning by Dr. Mark Smith, will sideline the 32-year-old English player for several months.

Since his arrival in August 2022, Byrne has been a consistent presence in Charlotte FC’s defense. He has played 75 matches, starting in 71 of them, and was part of the starting lineup in the first eight matches of the 2025 season. During these games, he contributed to The Crown’s defense, leading to three clean sheets and a 5-2-1 record.

Charlotte FC, with a current standing of 6-3-1 and 19 points, will soon start a series of road matches. The first of four consecutive away games will take place on Saturday, May 3, against Columbus Crew SC. Fans can watch all matches with an MLS Season Pass, available through the Apple TV app.
