Hunter Renfrow, a prominent football player and former member of the Las Vegas Raiders, has signed with the Carolina Panthers as a free agent. Renfrow is well-known for his successful tenure at Clemson University, where he significantly contributed to the team’s achievements, including a remarkable performance in the College Football Playoff National Championship in 2017.
Renfrow began his professional career with the Raiders, where he made a significant impact by accumulating 269 receptions, 2,884 yards, and 17 touchdowns. He also earned a Pro Bowl invitation after an impressive third season. However, his playing time decreased in 2023 due to the presence of Davante Adams.
Renfrow, originating from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, returns to the Carolinas, where he first gained recognition. He attended Socastee High School and was coached by his father, Tim. After his release by the Raiders in March 2024, Renfrow spent time working in the recycling industry while preparing for another opportunity in the NFL.
His background as a walk-on at Clemson underscores his determination, which led to him being awarded a scholarship and later receiving the Burlsworth Trophy in 2018, highlighting his journey from a walk-on to a standout player.
Renfrow’s new position with the Panthers marks his return to a region where his collegiate endeavors are fondly remembered.
