Charlotte FC announced the acquisition of defender Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty, who joins the club on loan from CF Montreal. The deal, which extends until the end of the 2025 season, sees CF Montreal receive $100,000 in General Allocation Money for 2025.

Marshall-Rutty, a 20-year-old Canadian youth international, has made 88 appearances in Major League Soccer so far. His career began with a Homegrown contract at Toronto FC when he was just 15 years old in 2020. A year later, he became the youngest player called up to the Canadian national team, a record previously held by Alphonso Davies.

This season, Marshall-Rutty has participated in six matches for CF Montreal. The transfer highlights Charlotte FC’s ongoing strategy to strengthen their defensive lineup.
