Jaycee Horn, cornerback for the Carolina Panthers, has experienced significant personal and professional milestones recently. He was named a freshman All-SEC at South Carolina, drafted No. 8 overall by the Panthers in 2021, and made his first Pro Bowl last season. However, this summer marked an even more significant moment for him with the birth of his daughter.
“It was the best thing in the world,” Horn shared with reporters during the first day of the Panthers’ training camp. The birth of his daughter has given him a new perspective on life and motivation to set a good example for her.
Despite these changes, Horn remains focused on his role as a key player for the Panthers. His approach to training camp has been consistent with previous years, maintaining his usual routines to stay healthy and prepared for the upcoming season.
Horn’s consistency extends beyond personal goals; it is reflected in his interactions with teammates like quarterback Bryce Young. “Trying to get in their head a little bit… It was a fun little warm-up,” Horn joked about engaging with Young during practice drills.
Head Coach Dave Canales expressed confidence in the team’s style of play: “I don’t think people are going to want to play us by the style of football that we play.” Horn echoed this sentiment, emphasizing a physical brand of football that defines the team’s identity.
Horn is committed to building on last year’s performance while keeping health and consistency at the forefront. As he prepares for another season, he carries forward both personal joy and professional determination.
