The Carolina Panthers have bolstered their defensive lineup by adding cornerback MJ Devonshire from the Raiders via waivers. Devonshire, who entered the NFL as a seventh-round draft pick in 2024, was released recently before being picked up by the Panthers on Monday.
Devonshire’s college career included stints at Kentucky and the University of Pittsburgh. Standing 5-foot-11 and weighing 179 pounds, he was recognized as a second-team All-ACC performer as both a returner and a cornerback during his college years. In his senior year, he distinguished himself by intercepting four passes and returning one for a touchdown.
Before joining the Panthers, Devonshire spent the previous season on the Raiders’ practice squad. This move adds depth to the Panthers’ secondary as they prepare for the upcoming season.
