EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The Carolina Panthers secured a 13-6 victory over the New York Jets on Sunday, marking their first road win of the season and limiting the Jets to just six points. This is the fewest points allowed by the Panthers in a road game since October 2017.

Wide receiver Xavier Legette led the Panthers’ offense with a career-high nine receptions for 92 yards and scored his second touchdown of the season on a 3-yard pass from quarterback Bryce Young. Legette also made a crucial 33-yard catch from Andy Dalton late in the game to help secure the win.

The Panthers’ defense set a franchise record by not allowing a run longer than 10 yards for three consecutive games. The longest run they allowed against the Jets was an 8-yard carry by Breece Hall early in the game. The NFL record for most consecutive games without giving up a rush of more than 10 yards is four.

Defensively, Carolina recorded a season-high six sacks, matching their output from Week 1 of the 2021 season, also against the Jets. Rookie outside linebacker Nic Scourton contributed 1.5 sacks, including his first solo sack in the third quarter and finished with two tackles, one tackle for loss, and three quarterback hits.

Derrick Brown led all players with seven tackles and matched his career high with two sacks. He also had three passes defensed and now leads the team with three sacks this season.

Rookie Princely Umanmielen added his second career sack in the fourth quarter. Cornerback Jaycee Horn had his first multi-interception game, picking off Tyrod Taylor twice—once in the end zone and again on a deep pass attempt.

Safety Tre’von Moehrig registered his first sack as a Panther while A’Shawn Robinson recorded his second sack of the year. Mike Jackson posted a career-best three passes defensed.

On special teams, rookie running back Trevor Etienne had a career-long 45-yard kickoff return—the longest by any Panthers returner since Week 8 of 2023—and totaled 35 yards on punt returns.

Punter Sam Martin placed four punts inside the Jets’ 20-yard line, tying for seventh-most in team history for a single game.

Snap counts showed balanced play at running back between Chuba Hubbard (38 snaps) and Rico Dowdle (33 snaps), who combined for 125 rushing yards. Jalen Coker returned to action after injury, playing just over one-third of offensive snaps.

Tershawn Wharton played more than half of defensive snaps after returning from injury, while Princely Umanmielen managed about one-third despite recent back treatment. Lathan Ransom’s role increased this week depending on matchups.

Jake Curhan has played exclusively on special teams since joining three weeks ago and remains undefeated as a Panther.
