The Carolina Panthers announced on Mar. 10 that they have re-signed defensive end LaBryan Ray and cornerback Robert Rochell, adding experienced depth to their defense.
This move is significant as both players are familiar with the team’s system and have contributed in recent seasons. The Panthers have secured multiple division titles and playoff appearances, according to the official website.
Ray, who is 28 years old, has played in 46 games with 10 starts for the Panthers over the past three seasons. He joined the team as a tryout free agent during training camp in 2023 and has since become a productive rotational player. In the 2024 season, Ray started nine games due to injuries on the roster, recording 41 tackles, one sack, and two tackles for loss.
Rochell, aged 27, has had several stints with the Panthers. He was part of the practice squad in 2023 before being signed by Green Bay. Last season, he returned after being signed off Dallas’s practice squad and appeared in four regular-season games as well as a wild card game against Los Angeles. Rochell began his career with Los Angeles in 2021 and has played in 54 games with five starts.
The Panthers play their home games in downtown Charlotte, North Carolina, according to the official website. The organization extends its presence throughout North and South Carolina while supporting community outreach and philanthropy across both states. The team emphasizes building a championship culture alongside these efforts.
