The Carolina Panthers have waived cornerback Kalen King in order to make room for safety Tre’von Moehrig on the active roster. The decision was made following the conclusion of Moehrig’s one-week suspension.
King joined the Panthers’ practice squad on August 28 after being released by the Green Bay Packers during final roster cuts. He had been selected by the Packers in the seventh round of last year’s draft from Penn State and spent his rookie season on their practice squad. Last Saturday, King was elevated to the Panthers’ active roster and participated in seven special teams snaps during Sunday’s game against the Rams.
Moehrig will be eligible to return when the team resumes play after its bye week.
