The Carolina Panthers have waived safety D’Anthony Bell, the team announced Wednesday. Bell was claimed off waivers by the Panthers on December 31, just before the final regular season game, and participated in the playoff matchup against the Rams.

Earlier this season, Bell alternated between the Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad and active roster. Following his release by Carolina, he is now available to be claimed by any NFL team. He was expected to become an unrestricted free agent.

The Panthers are a professional football team based in Charlotte, North Carolina, competing in the NFC South division of the National Football League since their formation as an expansion franchise in 1995. The organization has secured multiple division titles and playoff appearances and plays its home games in downtown Charlotte. More information about the team’s history and community involvement can be found on their official website.
