Charlotte FC’s Spanish midfielder, Pep Biel, has been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for week 24 after his standout performance against D.C. United. This marks the fourth time Biel has received this recognition in 2025 and the second time in three weeks.

Biel’s efforts helped Charlotte FC extend their unbeaten streak to three matches with a 2-1 victory over D.C. United at Bank of America Stadium. During the match, Biel scored two goals within four minutes, marking his first career MLS brace. His first goal came in the 44th minute when Djibril Diani’s cross deflected off a defender, allowing Biel to score. In the 48th minute, Wilfried Zaha provided a through ball to Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty, who assisted Biel’s second goal.

Biel has been climbing Charlotte FC’s record books with seven goal contributions in recent matches. He now has a season total of 19 (9 goals and 10 assists) and an MLS career total of 24 (11 goals and 13 assists), surpassing Patrick Agyemang’s previous record of 23. Biel is currently tied for sixth in MLS with 19 goal contributions and tied for third in assists.

Charlotte FC is currently ninth in the Eastern Conference table with 32 points and will face Atlanta United on Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
