Town of Waxhaw recently issued the following announcement.

Waxhaw Transportation Open House Postponed Until Feb. 20th

Tonight’s Waxhaw Transportation Planning Open House has been postponed until Thursday, February 20th, from 5:30-7:00 PM, due to potential severe weather expected around 5:00 PM. In the meantime, we encourage you to complete the Waxhaw Transportation Survey at https://waxhawmtp2020.metroquest.com/ to share your input with our staff. Please be safe this afternoon. Remember: turn around, don’t drown!

Residents can drop in anytime between 5:30 - 7:00 PM at the Waxhaw PD Community room (3620 Providence Rd. S.). Residents can engage with staff and provide input on their specific traffic concerns and project identification/funding strategies. Attendees will be able to participate on a written survey to gather input for Waxhaw Transportation projects.

The Town of Waxhaw is engaging in an inclusive process to develop the Waxhaw Master Transportation Plan (WMTP). In a fast-growing community like Waxhaw, addressing the challenges of securing funding begins with understanding current transportation needs and how to develop recommendations based on community priorities. Please see the photo below for the Waxhaw Master Transportation Plan map.

The goal of the Waxhaw Transportation Planning Public Open House is to create a locally-driven plan that:

  1. Prioritizes critical transportation improvements
  2. Lays out a practical implementation strategy
  3. Includes a plan for priorities, funding options, and partnerships
Please drop in on February 20th and provide input that will have a strong impact on your community!
