Town of Harrisburg issued the following announcement on July 20.
2020 Citizens Academy
The Town of Harrisburg’s annual Citizens Academy program provides Harrisburg residents and business owners with an opportunity to learn about the structure and function of local government through a free, 7-week course each fall.
The Citizens Academy will be held virtually on Tuesday evenings, 6-8 p.m., in September and October and will conclude with graduation recognition during the November Town Council meeting. Department managers will present an overview of their departments via the Zoom teleconference platform. Participants will be able to express their concerns, ask questions and gain a better understanding of what each department does.
There is a limited number of spots available for the Fall 2020 Citizens Academy. Participants will be selected based on an application process. To apply, you must be a Harrisburg resident or business owner and at least 18 years old. Those who are accepted into the program must attend at least six of the seven schedule Citizens Academy sessions and the November Town Council meeting.
