High Point University received approximately $50 million in donations from parents, alumni and friends over the past year, with an estimated 7,000 individual contributions to the university’s mission.
In the past 15 years, High Point has expanded the campus, quadrupled enrollment and raised approximately $426 million toward growing and sustaining the university, High Point University officials said in a Sept. 22 release.
This previous year, the university’s endowment received approximately $19 million in contributions, High Point said in the release. And only recently, Elizabeth Strickland gave the university its largest endowment gift to date, donating $12 million for scholarship assistance to students with financial needs and provide opportunities for women.
“We could not accomplish our core mission of preparing our students for the world as it is going to be without the support from our friends,” High Point University President Nido Qubein said in the release.
