Nurse

Central Piedmont Community College recently issued the following announcement.

Date: September 7, 2021

Location: Central Campus, Health Careers Building, Room 4510

Come learn about the Central Piedmont Associate Degree in nursing program. You are not required to attend an information session to apply to the program, but you are strongly encouraged to attend. We hold information sessions once a month.

Nursing is the largest healthcare occupation in the U.S., and Central Piedmont’s nursing program is the oldest of its kind in the state of North Carolina. Our program has graduated 3,000 nursing students since its inception in 1965. When you choose to enroll in our nursing degree program, you decide to learn at an institution that has built a reputation for producing quality healthcare practitioners for more than 50 years. Our coursework includes and builds upon the domains of healthcare, nursing practice, and the holistic individual. Content emphasizes the nurse as a member of the interdisciplinary team, providing safe, individualized care while employing evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and informatics. Completing our nursing program makes you eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN), which is required for practice as a Registered Nurse (RN). Our 2019 nursing graduates earned a 100%-employment rate and passing rate on their respective NCLEX-RN certification exam. Nursing employment opportunities are vast within the global healthcare system and may include positions within acute, chronic, extended, industrial, and community healthcare facilities. Our nursing program is approved by the NC Board of Nursing and is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), a mark of distinction certifying that the program adheres to the highest national standards of education.

At the information session, we will tell you more about what it's like to be a nurse, how to become a nurse, our program requirements, and how to apply to our program.
