Queens University of Charlotte issued the following announcement on Sept. 13.
Queens University of Charlotte is once again recognized as a top regional university in the south according to the prestigious U.S. News & World Report's 2022 Best College rankings released. Queens earned the No. 15 spot among the 136 colleges and universities within this category.
U.S. News & World Report provides 50 different types of numerical rankings and lists to help students narrow their college search. The annual "Best National University" ranking considers graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, graduation rates, alumni giving and peer assessment to rank the Best Colleges.
Queens placed 6th among all regional universities and 4th among regional universities in the south in alumni giving. Also among regional universities in the south, the university tied for 13th (with one other university) in the "most innovative schools" category – up from 16th last year, 26th in best value and 29th in best schools for veterans.
Among undergraduate business schools, McColl School of Business once again ranked high – 22nd among regional universities in the south. In the newly ranked undergraduate nursing program, Queens tied for 4th among regional universities in the south.
"Rankings are not necessarily goals we strive to achieve but they do reflect our impact and momentum," said Sarah Fatherly, provost and vice president for academic affairs. "This recognition sends a message to talented students and faculty everywhere that we provide a unique learning experience that leads to excellent outcomes. We're proud of the dedicated faculty and staff who deliver on that promise which has enabled 97 percent of our graduates to be employed or in graduate school within one year of graduation."
