City of Charlotte recently issued the following announcement.
The Civil Service Board is a quasi-judicial board established by the North Carolina General Assembly in 1929. At present, the board exists to evaluate and potentially approve new applicants for employment, promotions and demotions as submitted by the Fire and Police Chiefs; and to hold disciplinary hearings as required for employees of these departments who are subject to the Civil Service Board Act.
