An awesome story out of the Independence Division! Recently, Officer Derek Sanchez responded to a welfare check for a student at an elementary school.
While on the call, he made quite an impression on young Johan and his dog Gucci. So much so, that Johan invited Officer Sanchez to his birthday party! Officer Sanchez, of course, showed up with many gifts in hand. Johan and his brother also took a tour of the division with Officer Sanchez and Johan says he wants to be a police officer when he grows up!
