Charlotte 49ers track and field pole vaulter Riley Felts received Academic All-District by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for the third straight year.
GOLD STANDARD
Felts was also recognized as Conference USA's Winter Spirit Service award winner, an award for student-athletes who have set exemplary standards around the community, in the classroom, and in their respective sports. Each C-USA institution nominates one student-athlete who has demonstrated these qualities. It is awarded three times in the year during the fall, winter, and spring seasons. This was her second time earning this honor.
ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
Felts is a junior from Matthews, N.C., has a perfect 4.00 GPA, and is currently pursuing a civil engineering degree in Mathematics and Environmental Sciences. Felts also received early entry into the Masters of Environmental and Water Resources Engineering.
Felts is a 2020-2021 CoSIDA Third Team Academic All-America, two-time CoSIDA All-District III, and two-time USTFCCCA All-Academic Team member. She was also named to the 2021 C-USA All-Academic Team. She is a six-time Perfect Niner, six-time Chancellor's List, one-time Dean's List, and three-time C-USA Honor Roll and C-USA Academic Medal, recipient.
ATHLETIC ACHIEVEMENTS
Felts finished her 2022 indoor track and field season with an outstanding performance. With the record-setting mark in the women's pole vault, Felts cleared a height of 4.26m (13'-11.75") and took first at the Conference USA Indoor Championships.
