Charlotte 49ers sophomore distance runner Louise Lounes placed 18th at the NCAA Championships in the 10,000 meter run, late Thursday evening. Lounes posted a time of 34:04.06.
Lounes was the runner-up at the Conference USA Championships with a time of 35:24.17 to help the 49ers claim the 2022 C-USA Outdoor Track and Field Championship. She qualified for the NCAA Championships with a 12th-place finish at the East Preliminaries with a time of 34:36.11
She bested both of those times to place 18th at the NCAA Championships.
Lounes was the second-best finisher from Conference USA and the third-highest finisher from North Carolina.
