Four Golden Bulls scored in double figures as Johnson C. Smith University men's basketball scored their second victory of the season, defeated Morris College 103-56, in the JCSU Tip-Off Classic inside of Brayboy Gym on Friday night.
Jataveous Watson scored a game high of 19 points connected 6-of-7 from the field, while grabbing eight rebounds, and one block. Two-time CIAA Rookie of the Week Ezekiel Cannedy had 15 points, Christopher Ealy dropped 13 and Justin Day chipped in 10 for the Golden Bulls second win.
JCSU (2-4) shot 54-percent from the field in the first half and 48-percent in the game. The Golden Bulls also recorded a season-high for field goals attempted (74) and made (36).
With a double-digit lead in the second frame, Smith comfortably held onto their lead throughout the stanza, including a 33-point advantage twice but the
Hornets ' did not fend off easy as MC produced a spurt, however the Golden Bulls used the clock to secure the win
Daquan Ramey led MC (0-5) in scoring with16 points and four rebounds, following Charles Morgan with 11 points as well.
JCSU return to action on Saturday, Nov. 26 with a contest versus Johnson & Wales on Saturday at 4 p.m.
