CMPD listens to the priorities of the communities it serves. A recent example: community members contacted CMPD about a string of break-ins that may have been related in the South and Providence Divisions. There have been at least 13 documented incidents since July. This past week, CMPD hosted a community meeting to address these concerns.

Here are some preventative measures you can take: utilize deadbolts, window locks, and exterior lighting. If you have an alarm, make sure it’s operational and registered. If you go out of town, notify trusted neighbors and have someone pick up your mail, newspapers, and packages. If you see any suspicious activity in your neighborhood, call 9-1-1 or Charlotte Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
