Charlotte Hornets President of Basketball Operations Jeff Peterson announced today that the team has signed forward Moussa Diabate to a two-way contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Diabate appeared in 11 games with the Los Angeles Clippers last season, recording 2.6 points and 2.2 rebounds in 5.8 minutes per outing. He has played in 33 games with the Clippers over two NBA seasons, holding career averages of 2.7 points and 2.2 rebounds. In 32 NBA G League appearances, Diabate has posted averages of 15.8 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game.
A five-star recruit from the class of 2021, Diabate played one season at the University of Michigan where he earned Big Ten All-Freshman honors and helped the Wolverines reach the Sweet Sixteen. He was selected by the Clippers in the second round (43rd overall) of the 2022 NBA Draft.
Born in Paris, France, Diabate has represented French national teams at various levels including U16, U18, and U20 at Euro Championships held in 2018, 2019, and 2022 respectively.
