The Charlotte Hornets have released their schedule for the Group Play stage of the Emirates NBA Cup 2024, the NBA's second annual in-season competition. The Hornets will begin Group Play at Orlando on November 12 and then play at Brooklyn on November 19. Their home game against New York on November 29 will be broadcast on NBA TV, and they will conclude Group Play against Philadelphia on December 3.

All 30 teams have been randomly drawn into groups of five within their conference based on win-loss records from the 2023-24 regular season. Starting Tuesday, November 12 and continuing through Tuesday, December 3, each team will participate in four designated Group Play games on “Cup Nights” – one game against each opponent in its group, with two games at home and two away.

Eight teams will advance to the Knockout Rounds: the team with the best standing in Group Play games in each of the six groups and two “wild cards” (the team from each conference with the best record in Group Play games that finished second in its group). The Knockout Rounds will feature single-elimination games in the Quarterfinals (played in NBA team markets on December 10 and December 11) and Semifinals and Championship (played in Las Vegas on December 14 and December 17, respectively). The competing teams will vie for a prize pool and the NBA Cup championship trophy.

All 67 games across both stages of the Emirates NBA Cup will count toward regular-season standings except for the Championship. Each team will continue to play an overall total of 82 regular-season games during the 2024-25 season, including those that are part of Group Play and Knockout Rounds.

Fourteen games during Group Play (two games per Cup Night) as well as all seven Knockout Round games will be nationally televised.

The Emirates NBA Cup prize pool is allocated to players on teams participating in Knockout Rounds, with allocations increasing depending on how far a team progresses. At the conclusion of the Emirates NBA Cup, a media panel will select a Most Valuable Player for the competition along with an All-Tournament Team based on performances during both Group Play and Knockout Rounds.
