Charlotte FC is set to face Orlando in a decisive third match of the Audi 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs Round One. The series stands at one win each, making this encounter crucial for Charlotte's advancement to the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The team aims to build on their first playoff victory as they seek redemption from their initial defeat in Orlando.

The playoffs have been competitive across the Eastern Conference, with all but one matchup proceeding to a deciding third game. The New York Red Bulls managed an upset by eliminating defending champions Columbus Crew in just two matches.

The playoffs employ a home-away-home format where each Round One match must have a winner. If regulation time ends in a tie, teams will proceed directly to penalty kicks without extra time. A team needs two wins to progress, and those advancing will compete in the Conference Semifinals on November 23-24.

In the event of a tie during the Conference Semifinals after regular play, two 15-minute extra time periods will be played before resorting to penalty kicks if necessary. The MLS Cup final is scheduled for December 7, with hosting rights going to the finalist with the superior regular-season record.
