January 9, 2025 – The NBA has released the second round of fan voting returns for the upcoming 2025 NBA All-Star Game in San Francisco. Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball is leading all Eastern Conference guards with a total of 1,490,227 votes. Previously named an All-Star in 2022, Ball was one of the youngest players to achieve this accolade at just over 20 years old.

Ball's performance this season includes career highs in points per game (29.9), field goals (10.4), three-pointers (4.5), and free throws (4.7). Additionally, he averages 5.4 rebounds, 7.3 assists, and 1.4 steals over 24 games. His scoring average places him fourth in the league and sets him on track to break a single-season record for the Hornets.

Notably, Ball leads the NBA with an average of 4.5 three-pointers per game and scores an impressive nine points per game in the fourth quarter alone. On November 23 against Milwaukee, he scored a career-high of 50 points along with six three-pointers, five rebounds, and ten assists—making him only the ninth player in history to achieve such statistics in a single game.

Ball has played in a total of 208 games during his career with averages of 21.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, 7.4 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.

The All-Star voting began on December 19 and will end on January 20 at midnight ET. Fans can vote via the NBA App or NBA.com using their NBA ID.

Updates on fan voting will be shared every Thursday throughout January until January 16th. TNT is set to announce both starters and reserves for the All-Star Game later that month on January 23rd and January 30th respectively.

Fans are not alone in choosing starters; current players and media members also contribute votes through full ballots during this period.

Once all votes are counted, players will be ranked by position within each conference based on votes from fans, players, and media members alike. A player's score will be determined by averaging these ranks across voting groups with ties broken by fan votes specifically for each position group.
