The 2025 season for Charlotte FC brings heightened expectations as the team enters its fourth year in Major League Soccer. After finishing fifth in the Eastern Conference last season under head coach Dean Smith, the team aims to build on its back-to-back playoff appearances.

Smith has set high goals for the team, stating, "I want to win the Supporters Shield. Then, I want to win the MLS Cup. Then, the US Open... Leagues Cup as well." He emphasized that improving on last year's performance is crucial and setting higher standards each year is a priority.

Charlotte FC's home matches are expected to be significant events this season. The home opener against Atlanta promises an electric atmosphere and could impact the Eastern Conference race early in the season.

Another notable match is against FCC, which will feature Charlotte's new Fortress Kit. San Diego will also visit Charlotte for their first away trip to an Eastern Conference opponent in their inaugural season.

Matches against Chicago Fire have historically been intense and exciting. This fixture will take place before a long road trip and includes a popular Party Shirt giveaway.

Charlotte will seek revenge at home against Orlando after being eliminated by them in last year's playoffs. This game marks a return from five consecutive away matches due to hosting duties for the FIFA Club World Cup.

The late-season match against Miami holds significance with playoff positions at stake. Last year, Charlotte secured fifth place with a decisive 3-0 victory on Decision Day.

Smith's ambition for trophies underscores every match's importance this season as Charlotte strives for success beyond just securing a top-four finish.
