Queens University of Charlotte has honored Kristi Coleman, CEO of Tepper Sports & Entertainment and President of the Carolina Panthers, as the 2024 Queens University Charlotte BusinessWoman of the Year. The award, now in its 39th year, recognizes Coleman's leadership and contributions to the Charlotte area.

The ceremony took place on March 6 at a luncheon held at Queens University. It was attended by past recipients, local business leaders, and Coleman's family and friends. The event highlighted her career progression from an audit manager at Deloitte to her current position.

"From our founding as the Charlotte Female Institute in 1857, Queens University has always championed women's empowerment through education," stated Dan Lugo, President of Queens University. "This year's honoree, Kristi Coleman, is certainly no exception."

Coleman is noted for her influence in professional sports leadership with roles spanning the Carolina Panthers, Charlotte FC, and Bank of America Stadium. She joined the Panthers in 2014 and advanced from controller to CFO, team president, and ultimately CEO of TSE. Her position as one of two female presidents in the NFL underscores her accomplishments.

Kandi Deitemeyer, last year's award recipient and president of Central Piedmont Community College, presented the award. "It is a privilege to stand here today and recognize Kristi," said Deitemeyer. "We've seen first-hand the impact she has had on our city."

In her acceptance speech, Coleman expressed gratitude for the recognition: "It's an honor to be here among so many familiar faces and distinguished guests as I receive this prestigious award."

Coleman's name joins previous recipients such as Diane Morais from Ally Financial Inc., Tanya S. Blackmon from Novant Health, Dena Diorio from Mecklenburg County Manager's office, Peggy Brookhouse from Luquire George Andrews (LGA), and Carol Lovin from Atrium Health.
