The Carolina Panthers have reportedly reached an agreement with safety Tre'von Moehrig, currently with the Las Vegas Raiders. The deal is said to be for three years and was reported by multiple sources, including NFL Network. However, official confirmation of the deal cannot occur until Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Moehrig, who is 25 years old and a former second-round draft pick from TCU, recorded 104 tackles last season with the Raiders. Over his four seasons in Las Vegas, he has achieved six interceptions, two of which were made last year.
The Panthers are addressing their need for safety players as most of their current roster in that position are entering free agency. Prior to this agreement, Demani Richardson was the only safety under contract with the team.
