The Carolina Panthers have reportedly reached an agreement with Patrick Jones II, a defensive end from the Minnesota Vikings. This addition is part of the team's effort to strengthen their defense with young talent.
Reports from NFL Network and other sources indicate that the deal has been made, although it cannot be finalized until the new league year starts on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Jones, who is 26 years old, recorded 7.0 sacks for the Vikings last season. He also achieved nine tackles for loss and forced one fumble. Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 264 pounds, Jones was originally drafted in the third round from Pittsburgh.
He will reunite with former Vikings teammate D.J. Wonnum as he joins the Panthers' roster.
