Charlotte FC's midfielder Pep Biel has been recognized for his exceptional performance by being named to the MLS Team of the Matchday. His contribution was crucial in Charlotte FC's 4-1 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes.

Biel initiated the scoring early in the match, netting a goal in the 11th minute after capitalizing on a deflected cross. This marked his second goal of the season. He also assisted in two other goals, with one assist involving a precise through ball to Brandt Bronico for Charlotte's third goal in the 40th minute. Another assist came from an effective switch of play that allowed Kerwin Vargas to score in the 52nd minute.

This honor makes Biel the second player from Charlotte FC to be included in an MLS Team of the Matchday this year, following Wilfried Zaha's earlier recognition.

Ashley Westwood, another key player for Charlotte FC, also made significant contributions during this match and secured a place on the Team of the Matchday bench. Westwood scored his first goal of 2025, adding to his team's lead with a goal in the 36th minute.

Both players shared their thoughts with media representatives post-match, and recordings are available online.

Charlotte FC is set to continue its campaign against Colorado on March 29 and will host Nashville SC at Bank of America Stadium on April 5. Ticket information is accessible via charlottefootballclub.com/tickets.
