The Carolina Panthers are set to build on their roster with the 2025 NFL Draft fast approaching. As the draft nears, the team's focus remains on addressing deficiencies, particularly on the defensive side after a historically challenging season. General Manager Dan Morgan is determined to improve a defense that was last in the league, conceding the highest points and second-most yards in history.

The Panthers hold nine picks in the draft, with eight in the first five rounds. Among these are their own first-rounder at No. 8 and picks acquired from other teams, including a second-rounder from the Rams.

Historically, the No. 8 position has been favorable for the Panthers, yielding talents like Christian McCaffrey and Jaycee Horn. McCaffrey made a significant impact as a dual-threat before moving to the 49ers, while Horn, now an established player, contributed to the team's defense leading to a Pro Bowl nod last season.

Head Coach Dave Canales praised Horn's professionalism and dedication, which were influential in the team securing him for the future. "I saw a guy that was just so focused... I love the fact that he was recognized for it with the Pro Bowl," said Canales.

As the draft draws closer, potential additions for various positions have been evaluated, ranging from quarterbacks to offensive tackles. An analysis with Trevor Sikkema from Pro Football Focus has also been featured, offering insights into potential selections for the Panthers based on mock drafts and position needs.
