Starting defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton will not play in Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints due to a hamstring injury. Wharton was added to the injury report on Saturday and marked inactive for the matchup. Earlier this season, he missed two games because of a hamstring issue and another two with a toe injury. In his nine appearances so far, Wharton has recorded 2.0 sacks and three quarterback hits.

With Wharton sidelined, Bobby Brown III is expected to start on the defensive line alongside Derrick Brown and A’Shawn Robinson for the Carolina Panthers.

Other Panthers listed as inactive for this week’s game are wide receiver Hunter Renfrow, safety Demani Richardson, linebacker Krys Barnes, tight end James Mitchell, and defensive tackle Jared Harrison-Hunte.

Hybrid linebacker-safety Isaiah Simmons has been activated from the practice squad for the second time this season.

For the Saints, their inactives include safety Justin Reid, cornerback Rejzohn Wright, running back Alvin Kamara, offensive lineman Asim Richards, tight end Zaire Mitchell-Paden, and defensive tackles John Ridgeway III and Khristian Boyd.
