USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino has announced a 27-player roster for the upcoming training camp ahead of matches against Turkey and Switzerland in June. The players will gather in Chicago starting June 1 to prepare for these fixtures, which serve as crucial preparation before the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup.
The United States will face Turkey on June 7 at Pratt & Whitney Stadium in East Hartford, Connecticut. The match will begin at 3:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on TNT, truTV, and Telemundo Deportes, with streaming available on Max, Universo, and Peacock. Three days later, the USA will play Switzerland at GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tennessee. This game is scheduled for an 8 p.m. ET kickoff and will also be available on TNT, truTV, Max, Universo, and Peacock.
Pochettino emphasized the importance of this camp: “As we continue preparations for the World Cup, this is a fantastic opportunity to work with this group of players for an extended period and it’s important we take advantage of every moment we have together.”
Among those called up are Patrick Agyemang from Charlotte FC and Tim Ream from Charlotte FC as well. Notably returning to the squad are Sergiño Dest after recovering from an ACL injury and Folarin Balogun following his own injury setback.
Several players are making their first appearance with the national team: Alex Freeman (Orlando City), Quinn Sullivan (Philadelphia Union), Sebastian Berhalter (Vancouver Whitecaps), and Damion Downs (FC Köln). The roster features a mix of Major League Soccer players and those based in Europe.
Chris Richards and Matt Turner recently celebrated winning the FA Cup with Crystal Palace. Malik Tillman and Sergiño Dest contributed to PSV Eindhoven’s Eredivisie title win.
Pochettino noted that these matches provide valuable experience against European teams ahead of next year’s World Cup hosted in North America.
