The United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) will play a friendly match against Senegal at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on May 31, 2026. The game is part of the Allstate Continental Clásico series and is set to begin at 3:30 p.m., with coverage on TBS, HBO Max, Telemundo, Universo, and Peacock.
This match marks the first time the USMNT and Senegal national teams will face each other. Senegal is currently ranked 19th in the FIFA Men’s World Rankings and was drawn into Group I for the upcoming World Cup alongside France, Norway, and the winner of FIFA Playoff 2. Sadio Mané, who previously played for Liverpool, holds records as both the most capped player and top scorer in Senegal’s history.
The USMNT’s fixture in Charlotte follows their recent announcement of their World Cup roster. The U.S. team will compete in Group D with Australia, Paraguay, and the UEFA Playoff Path C winner during the tournament.
“We are so happy to have such a great team in Senegal as our fourth opponent in the matches leading up into the tournament,” said USMNT Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino. “In the year leading up to the World Cup, we will have played at least one team from five different confederations which is incredibly valuable for our preparations. We are looking forward to an amazing crowd in Charlotte.”
This event represents only the second appearance by the USMNT at Bank of America Stadium; they previously defeated Trinidad and Tobago there during the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup. North Carolina has hosted several notable U.S. soccer matches over time—both men’s and women’s games—including a record-setting U.S. Women’s National Team victory over South Korea following their 2019 World Cup win.
Historically, eight USMNT matches have taken place across North Carolina cities such as High Point and Cary since Major League Soccer began.
Charlotte FC defender Tim Ream has represented the USMNT since 2011 with 79 caps and has served as captain on 25 occasions.
