Small businesses that applied for a Charlotte COVID-19 relief grant should learn if they received the financial award in late December.
The Charlotte Center City Partners collected applications for its Small Business Innovation Fund until Nov. 9, according to a release on the organization's website.
The third-round grants are meant to fund innovative ways that Charlotte businesses adapt to COVID-19, with priority given to those that created unique experiences for customers, such as distinctive products or services or above-and-beyond community engagement, the website reported.
Daily expenses such as vendor payments, rent and mortgage, payroll and utilities are not eligible to be paid by the grant, the website said.
Qualifying businesses had to be headquartered in the Charlotte area, an existing physical location in the City of Charlotte, at least 50 employees or less as of March 1, experienced loss due to the virus and willing to be interviewed to document their lessons learned.
Grant awards will range from $20,000 to $40,000, the organization said in the release. Though the third round is closed, the organization said details about additional funding opportunities are forthcoming.
