What is chair yoga? Chair Yoga offers support for building strength, flexibility, and pain relief. Hampton Thrower has been teaching Chair Yoga for over 15 years. He leads a weekly gathering of welcoming enthusiasts on Tuesdays from 10 AM to 10:45 AM and invites you to join us. You may attend individual classes for $7 or join the ongoing series of classes, pro-rated at $5 per class. Questions? Call him at 704-523-0123. These modifications make yoga accessible to people who cannot stand or lack the mobility to move easily from standing to seated to supine positions. While seated on chairs, students can do versions of twists, hip stretches, forward bends, and mild backbends. In addition to a good stretch, chair yoga participants can also enjoy other health benefits of yoga, including improved muscle tone, better breathing habits, reduction of stress, better sleep, and a sense of well-being.
