Meet Officer Poplin

Police handcuffs(1000)

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department issued the following announcement on July 21.

Officer Poplin got behind a stolen vehicle and tried to stop it, but the driver didn’t stop and ended up running away on foot. Officer Poplin worked with other officers, the helicopter and a canine to search for the suspect. About an hour later, Officer Poplin placed the suspect in handcuffs and made a startling discovery. The suspect had just fled a murder scene. Homicide detectives picked up the investigation, and this homicide suspect was removed from the streets of the Charlotte community.

Keeping the community safe by taking violent offenders off the streets is exactly what has Officer Poplin saying, “I signed up for this.” If you’re looking for a job where you can say, “I signed up for this this,” go to charlottepolicejobs.org and find out about a career where you’ll be saying this every day.
