University of North Carolina Charlotte issued the following announcement on July 19.
This year’s University Convocation will begin at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 19, in the Popp Martin Student Union Multipurpose Room.
University Convocation is a chance for members of the campus community to hear about UNC Charlotte’s long-term goals and immediate plans and issues. Speakers will include the president of the Staff Council and president of the Student Body. The faculty president will present the faculty agenda for 2021-22, and Chancellor Sharon L. University Convocation also is a time to welcome new members of the faculty and professional staff and to recognize faculty members who have been granted permanent tenure as well as those who are beginning their 25th year of service to the University.
A general faculty meeting in the form of a question-and-answer session will immediately follow University Convocation. All members of the campus community are welcome to remain for the meeting. University Convocation will be streamed live on the convocation website.
