Charlotte Fire Department, Charlotte NC issued the following announcement on July 27.
The Charlotte Fire Department is proud to announce our participation in the Firefighter Rescue Survey. This survey was created to highlight and study one of the most important aspects of our job, saving civilians from fires. Historically, data collection has focused on civilian deaths and property losses, this study focuses on the successes in our operations.
Our participation in this study will allow for our department to analyze the way we conduct rescues here in our great city, and examine the challenges and circumstances of our own rescues. This will allow for our training and tactics will be able to be adjusted to make for a more successful outcome for our citizens.
Just last week our department affected the rescue of 6 children, these rescues along with 1 other have already been recorded in the data for the first month after our implementation of the program.
