Atrium Health issued the following announcement on Aug. 8.
“I received the vaccine because I am a nurse in the ER, caring for the public who struggle with understanding medicine and this vaccine. I need to protect myself from a sickness that has not been seen in my lifetime, I trust medicine and the efforts into making it possible.
"I received the vaccine because I am a wife and a mom who wants to lead by example and protect the ones I love the most.
I received the vaccine because I want to be part of the resolution in this fight so that we may be able to live the lives that we are meant to live... without masks and borders!” - Leanna Jones, RN, Emergency Department, Atrium Health University City.
