Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department issued the following announcement on Nov. 10.
A new member of our community took the time to share some kind words concerning his encounter with South Division Patrol Officer Andy Brown. Here’s what he had to say in part:
“ I lost my wallet in uptown. Officer Brown recovered the wallet and went above and beyond to find me on Google and telephone me. Even after we established contact and I informed Officer Brown that I would be on my way to meet up with him, he altered his route to minimize the distance I had to travel so as to make it easier for me. I’m new to Charlotte from CA and Officer Brown is just a beautiful reminder of the wonderful joy of southern hospitality and the incredible sense of community in the Charlotte area. This is not the first hospitable interaction I’ve had with police officers in Charlotte. You all do such a wonderful job of instilling a sense of community upon your officers. Thank you for making me feel so welcomed and safe in this beautiful city.”
