Police handcuffs(1000)

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department issued the following announcement on Jan. 26.

Steele Creek Division officers met with Ms. Sa’idah Sudan. She's the manager at a battered women's shelter. They take in women who are victims of domestic violence and are trying to escape a cycle of abuse along with their children. The shelter offers them a place to stay and helps them get back on their feet with information, education and finances.

Officers brought 2 boxes with 60 winter coats for adults and children and another box full of toys and books. Officers also shared some safety and crime prevention literature. Ms. Sudan was so grateful and appreciative of our assistance. Thank you to our local community and businesses partners who helped us with the donations to benefit of some of our most vulnerable community members.
