The Charlotte men's tennis team has announced the signing of Argentinian international, Ivan Dreycopp ahead of the 2022-23 season.
"The team and I are really excited about the addition of Ivan," Head Coach Kyle Bailey said. "He's a fierce competitor who is committed to playing at the next level of the game."
Dreycopp will enroll this Fall at Charlotte and will have four full years of eligibility in the Queen City.
As a junior player, Dreycopp earned a career-high UTR of 12.50 and is currently the No. 2 ranked player at the U-19 level in Argentina.
He also won a pair of Argentine National Junior Tournaments to at one point, reach the No. 1 U-19 ranking in the country and also reached the main draw of the ITF Futures Main Draw three times.
"His work ethic and commitment to developing is in line with our DNA and we can't wait to have him here at Charlotte," Coach Bailey continued.
Dreycopp becomes the first piece of the Niners 2022 signing class and will join a 49ers squad that came within a whisker of making the NCAA Tournament and earned a spot in the C-USA Championship match for the first time since re-joining the league in 2013.
